Rio Ferdinand claimed that Lionel Messi had unfollowed Alejandro Garnac because of the Manchester United footballer’s admiration of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Legendary footballer Rio Ferdinand has been slammed by Alejandro Garnacho’s brother Roberto for claiming that Lionel Messi unfollowed the Manchester United winger. Garnacho took the web by storm having scored a thoughts-boggling purpose with an overhead kick throughout Manchester United’s Premier League fixture towards Everton on the Goodison Park on Sunday. Later, Ferdinand claimed that Messi had unfollowed Garnacho because of the Manchester United footballer’s admiration of Ronaldo.
“You know what I like about him? He doesn’t give a f***. Garnacho informed me that Messi unfollowed him simply because he makes no secret of preferring Ronaldo. Rio Ferdinand’s claims, however, did not quite go down well with Alejandro Garnacho’s brother Roberto. Sharing his stand on this matter on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, Roberto called Ferdinand’s version “Fake.”
“Fake, Messi by no means adopted him, cease making stuff up simply to create hate, garna loves and admires each of them and also you all Trying to create a rivalry,” Roberto Garnacho wrote, quoting a video of Rio Ferdinand.
“My lad said to me Messi has unfollowed him (Garnacho) because he comes out, don’t care I’m a Ronaldo man, who is the GOAT? ‘Ronaldo.’ When he is in the Argentina squad,” the previous Manchester United and English defender was heard saying within the video.
Roberto Garnacho’s publish triggered an enormous debate on social media and Rio Ferdinand ultimately reacted to it by commenting, “Was sarcasm bro.”
Alejandro Garnacho has represented Argentina thrice in international football. In the domestic circuit, Garnacho has shared the dressing room with Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United. The 19-year-old Argentina international has so far scored eight goals in 54 appearances for Manchester United. His latest sublime strike against Everton helped Manchester United in claiming a resounding 0-3 win in the Premier League.
