Parts of Gujarat obtained unseasonal rainfall over the past 24 hours with the showers inflicting waterlogging in some low-lying areas of Bharuch metropolis, officers mentioned on Sunday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD has forecast gentle rains in some districts of the south and Saurashtra areas of the state until Monday morning.

In the 24-hour interval ending at 6 am on Sunday, Bharuch taluka obtained 20 mm rainfall, adopted by Santrampur taluka in Mahisagar district – 12 mm, Talod taluka (Sabarkantha) – 10 mm, Umreth taluka (Anand) – 10 mm, Ankleshwar taluka (Bharuch)- 9 mm, as per the information supplied by the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC). Rains in Bharuch metropolis led to waterlogging in some low-lying areas, officers mentioned. The IMD in its newest bulletin mentioned gentle rains had been very doubtless at remoted locations in Aravalli, Ahmedabad, Mahisagar, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad, Junagadh and Gir Somnath in the following 24 hours.

Dry climate is prone to prevail in the state from Monday onwards, it mentioned. Last week, widespread rainfall in the state led to the destruction of crops at numerous locations and a minimum of 27 individuals died, principally as a consequence of lightning strikes. The state authorities has ordered a survey of crop injury to compensate farmers for his or her losses.
