CRISIL MI&A Research estimates revealed that in November, the price of consultant dwelling-cooked veg and non-veg thalis elevated 10% and 5% on- month, respectively.
Key causes
The uptick was attributable to a considerable 58% and 35% on-month improve in onion and tomato costs, respectively, prompted by festive demand and decrease output within the kharif season as a consequence of erratic rainfall circumstances.
On-month, the price of the non- veg thali elevated at a slower tempo than that of the veg thali due to a marginal 1-3% decline in costs of broilers, which account for ~50% of the non-veg thali value.
The value of the veg thali rose 9% on-12 months, pushed by a 93% and 15% improve in onion and tomato costs, respectively.
