At least 5 folks died after the car through which they have been travelling rolled down into a gorge on Zoji La Pass on Thursday. The car was on its method to Sonamarg from Kargil when it skidded off the street and fell into a gorge on Zoji La Pass.
This is the second accident in three days on the Zoji La Pass. On Tuesday, 5 folks together with 4 vacationers from Kerala, have been killed in a comparable accident.
The accident occurred when their SUV skidded off the snow-covered street at Zoji La move and plunged into a gorge alongside the Srinagar-Leh National Highway in Ganderbal district, police stated.
The car included eight passengers from Kerala– Rajaesh Krishnai, Arun Karuposomi, Anil Rajinder, Rahul Krishna, Vignash Shewam, and Manooj Mahadev– and a driver recognized as, Aijaz Ahmed Awan.
Locals together with Sonamarg police carried out the rescue operation. The injured have been moved to Sonamarg’s Primary Health Center (PHC) from the place they have been referred to SKIMS Soura for specialised therapy.
