Rupee rises 4 paise to 83.14 against US dollar in early trade

The rupee appreciated 4 paise to 83.14 against the US dollar in early trade on Wednesday as sturdy shopping for in home equities boosted investor sentiment.

Forex merchants stated a weak buck against main currencies abroad weighed in favour of the native foreign money amid issues over oil provides due to geopolitical state of affairs.

At the interbank international trade, the home foreign money opened at 83.17 and gained additional to trade at 83.14 against the buck, registering an increase of 4 paise over its earlier shut.

On Tuesday, the home foreign money settled at 83.18 against the dollar.

Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the buck’s energy against a basket of six currencies, was buying and selling 0.02 per cent greater at 101.81 on Tuesday.

Global oil worth benchmark Brent crude was 0.08 per cent decrease at USD 79.17 per barrel.

In the home fairness market, the 30-share BSE Sensex was buying and selling 348.81 factors or 0.49 per cent greater at 71,786.00. The broader NSE Nifty was up 105.45 factors or 0.49 per cent to 21,558.55.

Foreign institutional buyers (FIIs) have been internet sellers in the fairness market on Tuesday as they offloaded shares price Rs 601.52 crore, in accordance to trade information.
