Spectator Becomes Game Official In Bundesliga After Assistant Referee Hurt – News18

WOLFSBURG, Germany: A spectator at a Bundesliga recreation was recruited to step in because the fourth official Saturday after the assistant referee was injured.

The recreation between Wolfsburg and Cologne was stopped within the 14th minute when Cologne participant Max Finkgräfe hit a strong clearance straight into the face of assistant referee Thorben Siewer, who was on the sideline close by.

Siewer appeared dazed and was helped off the sphere. He was changed on the sideline by fourth official Nicolas Winter.

Following an enchantment to the group for any spectators who’re certified referees, 32-12 months-previous Tobias Krull took over the fourth official position as emergency backup.

Krull is a goalkeeper for native sixth-division membership MTV Gifhorn. He became a black tracksuit to affix the officiating crew.
