Jharkhand coal mine assault case: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday arrested a person alongside with Rs 1.3 crore throughout a raid at multiple locations in Bihar in a case associated to an assault on a coal mine at Jharkhand’s Tetariyakhad in 2020, an official stated.

According to NIA, in the course of the raids carried out at two locations every in Bhagalpur and Purnea, in addition to one location in Madhepura, the federal company group seized a rifle, a pistol, 5 cellphones, a tough disk, incriminating paperwork, and diverse ammunition.

The case, initially reported at the Balumath police station in Jharkhand in December 2020, centered round an assault at the coal mine carried out by members of a “terror gang,” together with Sujit Sinha, Aman Sahu, and others.

NIA probe 

During its investigation into the case, the NIA found that the Aman Sahu gang was answerable for quite a few high-profile crimes in Jharkhand, akin to capturing at a deputy superintendent of police and extorting cash from businessmen and contractors.

The gang had additionally established connections with numerous splinter Naxal teams and different organized prison gangs working exterior of Jharkhand. “The premises raided today belonged to associates of the gang involved in a conspiracy to commit terrorist activities. One associate, identified as Shankar Yadav of Bhagalpur, was involved in investing/channelising the extortion money collected on behalf of Aman Sahu in the real estate sector,” the spokesperson stated.

Yadav was arrested after authorities found Rs 1.3 crore in his possession.

NIA filed chargesheet towards 24 accused

The NIA, which assumed management of the case from the Jharkhand Police in March 2021, has filed three cost sheets towards 24 accused people. These fees relate to extortion and hindering authorities actions in Latehar, Jharkhand, as a part of a prison conspiracy.

Additionally, Pramod Yadav, an affiliate of Sahu, had offered shelter to Pradeep Ganjhu, an accused particular person from Madhepura district who was wished by the police and carried a reward of Rs 3 lakh.
