Ram Nath Thakur mentioned he thanked the Prime Minister for the honour on behalf of his household, on behalf of Bihar and on behalf of the oppressed, Dalits, and backward communities.

“It was a joyous moment for us, just like a second Diwali. Crackers were burst and sweets were distributed,” Ranjit Kumar, the previous Chief Minister’s grandson mentioned. He mentioned the Prime Minister known as them a day after the award was introduced. He spoke with each member of the family and invited them to satisfy him in Delhi, he added. “I felt that the Prime Minister was one amongst our family,” Kumar added.
