The third season of the Prime Volleyball League (PVL), set to start on the SDAT muti-purpose Nehru indoor stadium right here on Thursday, was formally launched on the Taj Club House right here on Wednesday.
The league CEO Joy Bhattacharjya and Baseline Ventures Pvt. Ltd.’s co-founder and managing director Tuhin Mishra have been current together with the 9 workforce captains.
Ahmedabad Defenders, Bengaluru Torpedoes, Calicut Heroes, Chennai Blitz, Hyderabad Black Hawks, Kochi Blue Spikers, Kolkata Thunderbolts, Mumbai Meteors, and this season’s entrant Delhi Toofans are the 9 groups.
This season, which ends on March 21, will see the introduction of Super 5s. The Super 5s stage will happen from March 11 to 18 when the highest 5 groups from the league stage will compete in a round-robin format.
The workforce that finishes first within the Super 5s will instantly qualify for the ultimate, whereas the second-placed and the third-placed groups will compete within the eliminator on March 19 to resolve the opposite finalist.
On Super 5s, Calicut Heroes captain Jerome Vinith stated: “It’s good for all the teams. Because, it’s very difficult to show our potential in 15 points. Semifinal is just one match, and 15 points is very short-term. It’s very nice of Prime Volleyball to add this thing.”
Every match might be performed for 5 units, and every set might be performed for 15 factors.
A 5-0 win will carry the workforce three factors, whereas some other win will carry two factors. In case of a tie within the quantity of factors within the standings, the units gained might be thought of.
The eliminator and closing might be performed in the usual best-of-five format.
