Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to overview the state of the financial system amid international challenges at a gathering of the Financial Stability and Development Council (FSDC) on February 21.
The twenty eighth assembly of the excessive-stage panel to be held right here can be attended by all monetary sector regulators, together with RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, sources mentioned.

This could be the primary assembly of the FSDC after the passage of the Rs 47.6 lakh crore Budget for 2024-25, focussing on capital expenditure with an outlay of Rs 11.11 lakh crore.
In the assembly, the Finance Minister will overview the present international and home financial scenario and monetary stability points.
Sitharaman is more likely to stress key priorities highlighted within the interim Budget, the best way ahead for numerous future insurance policies and measures that the federal government has proposed to soak up many sectors, sources mentioned.
Besides, the council may overview the progress of measures permitted earlier for additional growth of the monetary sector, and to realize inclusive financial progress with macroeconomic stability.
The FSDC assembly will even overview actions undertaken by the FSDC sub-committee chaired by the RBI governor and the motion taken by members on the previous selections of FSDC.
Besides RBI governor, Securities and Exchange Board of India chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch, Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) chairman Debasish Panda, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) chairman Ravi Mital and Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority’s newly appointed chairman Deepak Mohanty will attend the assembly.
According to sources, the FSDC assembly will even be attended by Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad, Finance Secretary T V Somanathan, Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth, Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra, Financial Services Secretary Vivek Joshi and different high officers of the finance ministry.
