The West Bengal Chief Minister additionally introduced on Monday that her authorities would supply different identification playing cards to folks whose Aadhaar playing cards have been “deactivated” by the Centre. Speaking at a public distribution programme in Birbhum on Sunday, Mamata alleged that the central authorities “deactivated” the Aadhaar playing cards of individuals within the state to deprive them of advantages from varied social welfare schemes launched by her authorities.
However, Union Minister Shantanu Thakur has assured that the folks whose Aadhaar playing cards had been “deactivated”, would get them again. “The Union home ministry has already cleared it that the deactivation process has been stopped and those whose cards have already been deactivated will get them back. I have been given the responsibility to take applications from those people. You just need to write your name, phone number and Aadhaar number and write that it has been deactivated. I will submit it to the home ministry and the issue will be resolved. I have already said it was due to some technical fault,” Thakur stated.
