The suspension of FC Cincinnati defender Matt Miazga has been diminished from three video games to 2, Major League Soccer stated Friday.

NEW YORK: The suspension of FC Cincinnati defender Matt Miazga has been diminished from three video games to 2, Major League Soccer stated Friday.

Miazga, voted the league’s prime defender final season, was suspended and fined an undisclosed quantity final November after coming into the match officers’ locker room following a recreation in opposition to the New York Red Bulls on Nov. 4.

The league stated the discount comes after “a successful petition based on his continued commitment and compliance with a recommended treatment program overseen by MLS’ Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health (SABH) Program.”

Miazga served the primary recreation of his suspension in opposition to the Columbus Crew on December 2, 2023, and also will miss a match Sunday in opposition to Toronto FC. He shall be eligible to return in opposition to the Chicago Fire on March 2.
