CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. Chairman Vellayan Subbiah says the corporate’s entry into semiconductor manufacturing marks a strategic diversification for them.

CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (CG) mentioned it could invest ₹7,600 crore over 5 years in a proposed three way partnership (JV) with Japan’s Renesas Electronics Corporation and Thailand’s Stars Microelectronics to construct and function an outsourced semiconductor meeting and check (OSAT) facility in India.
The unit would come up at Sanand in Gujarat. The capability could be ramped up to 15 million models day, the Murugappa Group firm mentioned in a press release.
Renesas, a number one semiconductor firm, would offer superior semiconductor expertise and experience and Stars Microelectronics, an OSAT supplier, expertise for legacy packages, coaching and enablement.
CG would maintain 92.3% stake in the JV adopted by Renesas and Stars Microelectronics in the ratio of 6.8% and 0.9%, respectively. The challenge could be financed by a mixture of subsidies, fairness, and potential financial institution borrowings.
The JV will manufacture a variety of merchandise and cater to industries reminiscent of automotive, client, industrial and 5G, to identify a number of.
