North Delhi Mayor Jai Prakash mentioned the House “cleared the proposal in its meeting today”. “So, restaurants and shops in north Delhi will now have to mandatorily display whether the meat being sold or served ishalalor jhatka,” he mentioned.
‘Jhatka’ methodology is one by which an animal is slaughtered in a single go, whereas within the ‘halal’ methodology, an animal is allowed to die after slicing a vein. Officials had earlier mentioned eating places and meat outlets should “display clearly and visibly” whether or not they’re serving halalor jhatka.
