Two-time Olympic medalist and Indian shuttler PV Sindhu moved into the pre-quarters stage of the continuing All England Open Championships being held in Birmingham on Tuesday. Sindhu was enjoying her first-round match when her opponent Yvonne Li from Germany retired within the first sport itself. Sindhu was main 21-10 and gained the match by walkover.

Aakarshi Kashyap, one other girls’s singles participant, crashed out within the first spherical after a loss to Chinese Taipei’s Pai Yu To by 21-16, 21-11 in two straight video games.

The All England Open event is a Badminton World Federation World 1000 occasion and essentially the most prestigious event of the complete BWF World Tour calendar.
