Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), led by its chief Prem Singh Tamang, popularly generally known as P S Golay, ended chief minister Pawan Kumar Chamling’s 25-year rule within the border state after an in depth contest in 2019.
Of the state’s 32 seats, Golay’s SKM received 17 seats, leaving the chief minister and his Sikkim Democratic Front completely surprised, who received 15 seats.
In 2019, the polling was in a single part on April 11, 2019, and the counting passed off on May 23, 2019.
The 68-year-old outgoing chief minister, nonetheless, received each Poklok-Kamrang and Namchi Singhithang seats, on the best way to a document eighth time period as a legislator.
His ministerial colleague DT Lepcha, too, entered the state legislature from two seats – Martam Rumtek and Gnathang-Machong. Other ministers – Ugen T. Gyatso Bhutia and N.Ok. Subba – additionally romped house from the Tumin-lingi and Maneybong-dentam meeting constituencies.
For the SKM, Kunga Nima Lepcha received from the Gangtok and Shyari meeting seats, whereas occasion supremo P.S. Golay’s 28 year-old son Aditya Golay entered the home from the Soreng-Chakung meeting seat.
