Government will borrow Rs 7.24 lakh crore ($98.95 billion) from the market within the first six months of the subsequent monetary yr that begins on April 1, a finance ministry official stated on Wednesday.
The borrowings within the first half of the subsequent fiscal yr shall be about 60 per cent of Rs 12.05 lakh crore borrowing goal for the entire fiscal yr, Tarun Bajaj, financial affairs secretary on the Ministry of Finance stated at a digital briefing.
The internet borrowings throughout the subsequent fiscal yr shall be about Rs 9.37 lakh crore, the official stated.
He stated the federal government had borrowed a report Rs 13.71 lakh crore within the present fiscal yr.
