Defence Minister Rajnath Singh shall be on a visit to Siachen space, the world’s highest battlefield, on Sunday (March 24) and celebrate Holi with the armed forces personnel deployed there. The competition of colors shall be celebrated on March 24 and 25.
“Tomorrow, 24th March, I shall be in Siachen, the world’s highest battlefield. Looking forward to celebrate Holi with the Armed Forces personnel deployed there,” Singh posted on X on Saturday.
The Siachen Glacier on the peak of round 20,000 ft within the Karakoram vary is named the best militarised zone on the earth the place the troopers have to battle frostbite and excessive winds.
Avalanches and landslides are widespread on the glacier through the winters and temperatures can drop to as little as minus 60 levels Celsius.
