The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Sunday stated it connected money, financial institution deposits and land worth Rs 17.82 crore belonging to the members of the family of “gangster” Surender Singh alias Chiku as half of a cash laundering investigation in opposition to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and others.

The ED connected the immovable assets in Haryana’s Narnaul and Rajasthan’s Jaipur.

The central company launched a press release during which it stated Chiku was “managing the crime money of Lawrence Bishnoi through his gang members and acquired properties in the names of his family members and relatives”.

Chiku is at present lodged in Tihar jail and was arrested on this case by the ED in February after the company performed searches in opposition to his members of the family and linked individuals in Rajasthan and Haryana.

The probe discovered, the ED stated, alleged “illegal” involvement of Chiku in mining companies in Narnaul by means of an organization referred to as Nimawat Granites Pvt.

Ltd.

“Surender Singh Chiku wielded his prison clout and launched his brother-in-law Vikash Kumar as a director and a shareholder on this firm that was awarded a mining tender at Bakhrija mines in Narnaul.

“Through this deal, Surender Singh Chiku and Vikash Kumar extorted Rs 2.

84 crore with out enterprise funding,” the company claimed.

The “proceeds of crime” extorted from mining companies have been acquired by means of authorized banking channel, channelised into regular economic system and used to buy immovable properties and for private consumption, it claimed.

The company stated it performed a drone survey of the mined space within the presence of mining and income officers to make calibrated estimates of the extorted cash from mining companies underneath the patronage of gangster Chiku.

“It has emerged that the quarrying has resulted in extraction of more than 1 lakh metric tonnes of stones from these mines,” the ED stated.
