Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA), India’s main absolutely built-in producer of value-added ferro chrome, has changed present 550 Amp capability conductor with 800 Amp capability HTLS (High rigidity Low Sag) conductor thereby enabling energy transmission upto 160 MW of energy as in opposition to 110 MW earlier. This alternative of present conductor by HTLS conductor has been achieved for the first time in the energy sector of Odisha.
HTLS is the newest state of the artwork conductor which has enormous carrying capability and doesn’t sag attributable to temperature and circulation of present. IMFA has diminished the transmission losses to minimal by changing the conductor and enhancing the energy carrying capability of present transmission traces.
The earlier energy equipped by means of 132 KV ICCL Grid-Choudwar Grid line of Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited was not enough to deal with the energy circulation attributable to enhanced capability of the CGP of IMFA at Choudwar.
With an funding of roughly Rs. 2.5 crore in the challenge the new HTLS transmission traces will carry greater than 150 MW and will likely be an important assist to the localities of Choudwar, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Salepur by the use of enchancment of voltage and grid stability.
Management Comment:
Commenting on the outcomes Mr. Subhrakant Panda, Managing Director and CEO, IMFA mentioned: “Our endeavor has always been for the betterment of people in Odisha and the enhanced power transmission capacity implemented by IMFA is one such initiative. The replacement of the conductor, first of its kind in Odisha, will lead to enhanced power supply to more households thereby fuelling the power sector in the state.”
