An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 on the Richter scale occurred close to Sikkim-Nepal border at 2049 hours on Monday. The National Center for Seismology reportedly mentioned that the earthquake struck at a depth of 30 km from the floor. The location has been spoted as 27.17 N ; 88.89 E
As per the early inputs, the epicentre of the earthquake was 25 km east-southeast of Sikkim’s capital Gangtok.Â
Besides Sikkim, delicate earthquake tremors have been felt in Assam, north Bengal and Bihar. In Bengal, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and few different districts witnessed reasonable quake this night at about 8.50 PM.Â
