More than 5 weeks after receiving the primary dose COVID-19 vaccine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday obtained his second dose at Delhi’s premier All India Institutes of Medical Sciences.
The prime minister went to AIIMS early this morning, sporting an Assamese ‘gamocha’. Soon after being administered with the second dose, he appealed to the the individuals to get the shot quickly as ‘Vaccination is among the many few methods we’ve got, to defeat the virus.’
Posting an image of him receiving the shot, PM Modi stated “Taking to his Twitter, PM said “Got my second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS at present. Vaccination is among the many few methods we’ve got, to defeat the virus. If you might be eligible for the vaccine, get your shot quickly. Register on http://CoWin.gov.in.”

The two nurses who administered COVID19 vaccine to PM Modi at AIIMS are — P. Niveda from Puducherry and Nisha Sharma from Punjab. News agency ANI quoted Sister Nisha Sharma who inoculated PM Modi, saying “I’ve given the second dose of COVAXIN to our Prime Minister Narendra Modi at present. He spoke to us. It was a memorable second for me as I obtained to fulfill him and vaccinate him.”
“I’m the vaccinator who gave the primary dose of COVAXIN to PM Narendra Modi. Today I obtained one other alternative to fulfill him & vaccinate him for the second time. I used to be elated once more. He spoke to us, we even clicked footage with him,” said Sister P Niveda who vaccinated PM Modi.

In a bid to control to spread of deadly Coronavirus, India is holding a massive vaccination drive across country. As per the Union Health Ministry, India has surpassed the US to become the fastest COVID-19 vaccinating country in the world.
As per the provisional report, the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 8.70 crore with an average daily rate of 30,93,861 vaccine doses.
These include over 89 lakh health care workers (HCWs) who have taken the 1st dose and and about 53 lakh health care workers who have taken the 2nd dose. About 97 lakh frontline workers (FLWs) have received the first dose and more than 43 lakh FLWs have taken the 2nd dose.
