Indian Army Chief General Naravane leaves for Bangladesh. 

Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane on Thursday left for Bangladesh on a five-day visit to additional broaden cooperation and coordination between the 2 nations on a bunch of strategic points.

The visit comes lower than two weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled to the neighbouring nation.

“This visit from April 8 to 12 will further deepen the bilateral relationships between the two armies and act as a catalyst for closer coordination and cooperation between the two countries on a host of strategic issues,” Army Spokesperson Colonel Aman Anand stated.

The 12 months 2021 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the liberation of Bangladesh and the delivery centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Colonel Anand stated General Naravane can be scheduled to work together with the drive commanders of the UN peacekeeping missions and the deputy chief operations officer of the Royal Bhutanese Army on April 12.

He may also attend the closing ceremony of train ‘Shantir Ogrosena’, a multilateral UN-mandated counter-terrorism train from April 4 to 12.

Besides armies of Bangladesh and India, the train is being participated by Bhutan and Sri Lanka together with observers from the US, the UK, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

The Chief of the Army Staff can be scheduled to work together with the members of the Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support and Training Operations (BIPSOT), the Army spokesperson stated.

He stated General Naravane may also attend a seminar on UN peace help operations and ship a keynote tackle on ‘altering nature of world conflicts: function of UN peacekeepers’.

The Army chief can be scheduled to visit the Mujibur Rahman memorial museum in Dhanmondi the place he can pay tributes to the founding father of that nation.
