“I am proud of how I came back today, especially with what happened in the first set,” he stated after the match.

Evans will face Stefanos Tsitsipas, who progressed when opponent Alejandro Davidovich Fokina retired injured of their quarter-final.

Spaniard Fokina didn’t return for the second set after receiving remedy throughout the first, which Tsitsipas received 7-5.
