Post-poll violence has allegedly taken place in Dabgram-Phulbari meeting constituency in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district, with each the TMC and the BJP claiming that its members had been attacked by activists of the rival social gathering. The alleged incidents occurred in Porajhar village in Phulbari I gram panchayat on Saturday evening after voting befell in the fifth part of the meeting elections in the state.
As per an FIR lodged by BJP candidate Sikha Chatterjee with New Jalpaiguri police station on Sunday, TMC “goons” thrashed two members of the saffron social gathering and molested the ladies in their homes. BJP members staged an illustration exterior the police station in protest in opposition to the alleged incident.
On the opposite hand, TMC candidate and state minister Goutam Deb alleged that BJP staff hurled stones on a ruling social gathering employee’s home and Chatterjee visited the village on Sunday and “terrorised” the residents, together with ladies. He stated a police grievance will quickly be lodged in opposition to Chatterjee.
