UP government moves Supreme Court, challenges Allahabad HC’s order to impose lockdown in COVID-hit cities

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday moved the Supreme Court difficult the Allahabad High Court`s order to impose lockdowns in its 5 worst-COVID-19 affected cities.

The state government maintained that such varieties of selections will not be in the area of the High Court. 

The bench, led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sharad Arvind Bobde, has determined to hear the matter in the present day on the finish of the board.

“Complete lockdown was imposed for a week in many cities in Uttar Pradesh. Considering the urgency, in the matter, please consider it for hearing today,” Solicitor General Tushar Mehta stated.
