Taking word of the pandemic, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) introduced an extension within the final date for filing a number of statutory returns, together with tax deducted at supply (TDS) in some instances. 

The determination is anticipated to deliver respite to many taxpayers who haven’t been in a position to file their TDS because of the ongoing pandemic. According to CBDT’s official assertion, taxpayers, who’ve acquired a discover, can file their tax returns, responding to appeals to commissioners, and elevating objections on orders of dispute decision panels. Taxpayers can submit the filings that had been due on April 1 or later until the tip of May or till the final date specified within the discover. 

CBDT stated, “These relaxations are the latest among the initiatives taken by the government to ease compliance for taxpayers and to grant them respite during these difficult times.” 

Meanwhile, taxpayers can file their belated tax returns for the monetary 12 months 2021 till 31 May 2021. The earlier late for filing belated tax returns was 31 March 2021. 

“It has also been decided that time for payment of the amount payable under the  Direct Tax Vivad se Vishwas Act, 2020, without an additional amount, shall be further  extended to 30th June 2021,” the assertion learn.
