Amid the rising circumstances of coronavirus pandemic, the metro trains will run at a 15-minute frequency within the peak hours during the weekly lockdown, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) introduced on Sunday.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has introduced the extension of the lockdown for subsequent week.
The lockdown was earlier prolonged to May 3 amid extreme scarcity of hospital beds because the second coronavirus wave ravaged badly within the nationwide capital.
“Services during morning (7AM to 11AM) and evening (4PM to 8PM) peak hours across the network will be available with a frequency of 15 minutes,” the DMRC tweeted.
For remainder of the hours of the day, services throughout the community shall be obtainable with a frequency of half-hour, it added.
Metro services could be availed solely by the exempted class of individuals on manufacturing of legitimate id proof.
On Sunday, Delhi experiences 20,394 new circumstances and 407 deaths within the final 24 hours.
