Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan who led the ruling CPI(M)-headed LDF in Kerala to a powerful victory within the April 6 Assembly polls, on Monday resigned from the submit, forward of the brand new ministry formation.
Vijayan drove to the Raj Bhavan round midday and submitted his resignation letter to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, sources stated. Vijayan has been requested to proceed as chief minister until the brand new authorities is sworn in, Raj Bhavan supply stated.
Scripting historical past, the LDF retained energy in Kerala, bucking the over four-decade-long pattern of oscillating between Communist and Congress-led fronts alternately.
LDF received 99 of the full 140 seats, whereas the opposition UDF had to accept the remaining 41 and BJP drew a clean.
