As many as 5 patients affected by Covid-19 and beneath intensive care at Shri Bhanji D Khimji Lifeline Hospital died on Tuesday allegedly as a result of shortage of oxygen. The patients reportedly died inside a span of 1 and a half hours, beginning at 3 pm.
However, the district well being officer Dr Yashwant Madinkar, who visited the hospital, dismissed the allegation that the deaths occurred as a result of shortage of oxygen and mentioned a committee of consultants would examine the matter.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Ramarajan mentioned a transparent image would emerge solely after a medical inquiry. Both the officers visited the hospital following the deaths.
