Police seized 532 fire extinguisher iron gasoline cylinders of various sizes

The Delhi Police has arrested three individuals within the connection of selling painted fire extinguishers as oxygen cylinders to the needy individuals. The accused have been recognized as Ravi Sharma (40), Mohammad Abdul (38) and Shambhu Shah (30), all residents of Alipur, they mentioned.

Following a criticism obtained from an area Mukesh Khanna, a raid was carried out within the Alipur space the place over 500 empty fire extinguishers – painted black and fitted with nozzles had been seized. Police seized 532 fire extinguisher iron gasoline cylinders of various sizes, 26 oxygen gasoline cylinder nozzles, two electrical grinders used to take away the pink paint of the cylinders, three silver coloration spray-paint cans, one black paint field, one paint-brush, one pipe-wrench and Rs 49,500 money had been recovered from their possession.

Khanna who runs Radha Vallabh Sewa Sangh NGO which serves free oxygen cylinders to Covid sufferers, filed a criticism on the Farsh Bazar police station.  Khanna alleged that one oxygen cylinder distributer, Varsha Engineering at Apni Colony, Alipur, had bought him oxygen cylinders at Rs 5,500 per for 4. 5 liters. When he contacted the identical distributor once more and requested for extra cylinders, the distributer demanded Rs 13,000 for per 4. 5 liters cylinder, a senior police workplace mentioned.

“During enquiry, it was found that distributor Ravi Sharma was removing red paint of fire cylinders which were used for filling of CO2 and was converting them into oxygen cylinders by painting them black with the help of Abdul and Shah,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) R Sathiyasundaram mentioned.

Sharma and his associates have cheated the complainant by selling fire extinguishing cylinders as oxygen cylinders at an exorbitant price. All three accused individuals had been arrested, the DCP mentioned.

During interrogation, it was discovered that the accused used to gather the empty or expired fire extinguisher cylinders and promote it both as scrap or refill the CO2 for fire-fighting, police mentioned.

Due to the continued oxygen disaster in view of the COVID pandemic, they deliberate a conspiracy to take away the pink color of the unique cylinder, repaint it with black, and repair nozzle to make it just like oxygen cylinder, police mentioned.

The accused additionally confessed that he has already bought many such cylinders, police added.
