Who Is Disha Ravi?

21-year-old Disha Ravi is a climate activist just like Greta Thunberg. Disha Ravi is a founder of the ‘Friday For Future’ campaign which is a global climate movement that started in August 2018, after Swedish activist Thunberg began a school strike for climate.  The 21-year-old is a student at Mount Carmel college, one of city’s top women’s college.

She was reportedly “picked up” from her house, which falls under the Soladevanahalli police station limits in the Karnataka capital, while her parents live in Mysore.

Case registered

Earlier, the Delhi Police said that the “toolkit” was created by a Khalistani organization calling itself the Poetic Justice Foundation. On February 4th, 2021, Delhi registered a case against the “toolkit” which was tweeted by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg. The case was filed under Sections 124 A (sedition), 153A (creating hatred among various groups on religious grounds, etc.), 153, and 120 B of IPC. Earlier, Delhi Police Special Commissioner Praveer Ranjan told that no person was named in the FIR and that the climate activist Greta Thunberg was also not named. He added that investigation is underway on the tweets and toolkits.

According to media reports, during the investigations, the Delhi Police had asked Google and social media officials to help with information regarding the toolkit by providing email ids, URLs, and social media accounts related to the creators of the “toolkit”. The toolkit was uploaded through Google docs and then uploaded on Twitter.

Officials say Disha Ravi is a link in the case. While the inquiry is ongoing, in the initial inquiry, Disha told that she edited some things in the toolkit adding some things to it, and sent it forward.

The Twitter Controversy

On February 3rd, Greta Thunberg shared a tweet in which she shared the first “toolkit” expressing her support with the farmers at the protest. But the toolkit was focused on the January 26th tractor rally which turned violent. She deleted that tweet the next and made a fresh tweet.
