Haryana extends coronavirus lockdown by a week till May 17.
The Haryana authorities on Sunday introduced extending the coronavirus-induced lockdown within the state by a week till May 17.
Making the announcement on Twitter, Home and Health Minister Anil Vij stated, “Mahamari Alert / Surkshit Haryana announced from 10 May to 17 May. Stringent measures will be taken to contain spread of Corona in Haryana. Detailed order to be issued soon.”
Vij later instructed PTI that the restrictions that are at present in drive will proceed till May 17.
Last week, the state authorities had imposed a lockdown within the state from May 3 to May 10 (5 am).
In the previous few weeks, Haryana has registered a surge in COVID-19 infections in addition to fatalities.
Haryana on Sunday reported 151 COVID-19-related deaths taking the cumulative toll to five,605 and one other large surge of 13,548 infections pushed the overall case rely to six,15,897.
During the lockdown interval, the federal government has urged the residents to remain indoors. Several classes of individuals, together with these tasked with legislation and order, emergencies and municipal service duties and authorities equipment engaged in COVID-19-related duties, shall be exempted from the lockdown.
