Gurmeet Ram Rahim admitted to PGIMS in Rohtak

Jailed Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh took in poor health on Wednesday and was moved to PGIMS Rohtak on the recommendation of jail medical doctors, officers mentioned.

The 53-year-old chief of the Sirsa-headquartered sect can be stored below the remark of a workforce of medical doctors in the federal government hospital, the officers in the prisons division mentioned.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who has been lodged in Rohtak”s Sunaria jail since 2017 following his conviction for raping his two girls disciples, was examined by the medical doctors on the high-security jail after he complained of blood pressure-related points, the officers mentioned.

After being examined by the jail medical doctors, he was taken to PGIMS at Rohtak for higher remark and administration, they mentioned.

“He had some fluctuation in his blood pressure. On the advice of (prison) doctors, he was taken to PGIMS Rohtak,” Haryana”s Director General of Prisons Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor instructed PTI over the telephone.

Security has been tightened on the hospital, a police official from Rohtak instructed PTI, including the sect chief had been stored in a separate ward.

The dera chief was in August 2017 sentenced by a particular CBI court docket in Panchkula to 20 years in jail in the rape case.
