Chennai: With over 31,000 each day COVID-19 instances within the state and almost 7,000 instances in Chennai metropolis, Tamil Nadu imposed additional restrictions over and above the continuing lockdown which was imposed from May 10 until May 24.
The choice to tighten the lockdown measures was taken after receiving consent from representatives of all main political events at an all-party assembly on Thursday. The new curbs come into impact from 4am May 15 till May 24.
As per the brand new restrictions the working hours of standalone grocery shops, supermarkets, vegetable shops, meat shops and others might be from 6am to 10am. These shops should function with out air-conditioning and should allow solely 50 per cent footfall.
E-commerce companies equivalent to Dunzo and others that ship grocery, meat, greens might be permitted to operate from 6am-10am. Whereas, different E-commerce corporations could be permitted to ship items between 2pm and 6pm.
While gas stations, ATMs, medical shops might be open, all different shops together with footpath distributors promoting greens, flowers have been requested to go beneath lockdown. Tea shops too will stay closed.
Also, e-pass has been made necessary for home and even inter-district vacationers together with individuals going to weddings, funerals, caregiving for aged and so forth. and is to be availed on eregister.tnega.org. The E-pass could be required from 6am, May 17.
Meanwhile, the present night time curfew from 10pm to 4am and the entire lockdown on Sundays will proceed to be in impact.
According to the Government bulletin there are 1.95 lakh energetic instances within the state as on Friday night.
