New Delhi: In view of the rising COVID-19 instances, Tamil Nadu has tightened the lockdown restrictions by capping the timings of the grocery shops to 4 hours amongst different issues.
With over 31,000 each day COVID-19 instances within the state, the MK Stalin-led authorities on Friday (May 14, 2021) imposed additional restrictions over and above the continued lockdown which was imposed from May 10 and can stay in place until May 24.
The new curbs have come into impact from 4 AM May 15.
As per the brand new restrictions throughout Tamil Nadu lockdown, the working hours of standalone grocery shops, supermarkets, vegetable shops, meat shops and others shall be from 6 AM to 10 AM. These shops should function with out air-conditioning and should allow solely 50 per cent footfall.
E-commerce companies akin to Dunzo and others that ship grocery, meat, greens shall be permitted to perform from 6 AM – 10 AM. Whereas, different e-commerce companies can be permitted to ship items between 2 PM and 6 PM.
While gas stations, ATMs, medical shops shall be open, all different shops together with footpath distributors promoting greens, flowers have been requested to go underneath lockdown.
Tea shops too will stay closed.
Also, e-pass has been made obligatory for home and even inter-district travellers together with individuals going to weddings, funerals, caregiving for the aged and many others and is to be availed on eregister.tnega.org. The E-pass can be required from 6 AM May 17.
The present evening curfew from 10 PM to 4 AM and the entire lockdown on Sundays will proceed to be in impact.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu recorded 31,892 new COVID-19 instances on Friday that took the entire caseload to 15,31,377 whereas 288 extra deaths took the toll to 17,056. The state at the moment has 1,95,339 coronavirus lively infections.
