Myanmar’s navy junta is looking for to lengthen its rule by banning Aung San Suu Kyi’s political social gathering, an official within the shadow authorities stated on Friday, responding to media stories that the social gathering can be dissolved for alleged vote fraud.
“The announcement that the junta’s obedient electoral fee is banning the National League for Democracy is a blatantly undemocratic try to lengthen navy rule in defiance of the individuals,” Dr Sasa, spokesman and minister in the National Unity Government, said in an emailed response to Reuters.
The junta has promised to hold new elections within two years.
