The Delhi Police stated on Monday stated Wrestler Sushil Kumar, arrested for reference to the Chhatrasal Stadium brawl case that led to the demise of a 23-year-old wrestler Sagar Dhankar on May 4, was interrogated for nearly 4 hours.

Police on Sunday had arrested Sushil Kumar and his affiliate Ajay from outer Delhi’s Mundka space. Officials stated they’re investigating the Chhatrasal Stadium brawl case from many alternative angles.

“We are questioning Kumar to ascertain the sequence of events that transpired and led to the crime and also about his whereabouts after the incident.

According to a news report in Hindustan Times’ sister publication Livehindustan, as soon as the decorated wrestler was lodged in the lock-up of the Model Town police station, he started crying.

As per the report, Sushil Kumar refused to eat anything and was awake all night inside the lock-up.

The police said further interrogation of Kumar will clear whether the brawl took place over a property dispute.

“The motive behind the assault on wrestler Sagar Rana and his mates, Sonu and Amit Kumar, who have been injured will solely be clear throughout interrogation,” the police informed PTI.

After Sagar Dhankhar’s homicide, Kala Jathedi Gang was reportedly after Sushil Kumar and his associates. The wrestler is afraid that the henchmen of Kala Jathedi gang would possibly assault him in jail.
