James Bond To Have A New Home As Amazon Buys MGM Studios For $8.45 Billion

Mumbai: Amazon Inc has introduced that it’s shopping for MGM Studios, the US-based media firm, which has produced profitable franchises like ‘James Bond’ and ‘Legally Blonde’. The enterprise transfer is predicted to accentuate competitors within the streaming area, which is dominated by Netflix and Disney+.  

“The real financial value behind this deal is the treasure trove of IP in the deep catalog that we plan to reimagine and develop together with MGM’s talented team. It’s very exciting and provides so many opportunities for high-quality storytelling,” senior vp of Prime Video and Amazon Studios, Mike Hopkins, stated in a press release.  

MGM, which is likely one of the world’s oldest movie studios, was based in 1924. The studio has additionally produced fashionable TV exhibits like ‘Shark Tank’ and ‘Vikings’.
