BSF’s goodwill gesture: Bangladeshi nationals, who entered Indian territory during Cyclone Yaas, sent back

Border Security Force handed over a Bangladeshi nationwide to BGB as a goodwill gesture who entered Indian territory because of the robust stream of River water.

Vigilant troops of the Border Outpost Boltala, 27 Battalion BSF apprehended one Bangladeshi nationwide within the border space of District- North 24 Parganas, West Bengal on crossing the International Border inadvertently.

On  Thursday (27 May), at round 04.45 PM, vigilant troops of the Border Out Post Boltala, 27 Battalion BSF, Sector Kolkata noticed a ship illegally coming into the Indian territory from Bangladesh aspect within the Ichhamati river in an uncontrolled approach because of the robust currents of water and wind arisen in ‘Yaas’ cyclone.  The troops on obligation had been alerted to see the Bangladeshi nationwide together with the boat coming into the border, took him into custody together with the boat.

The apprehended particular person was delivered to the Border Out Post for additional questioning. The apprehended particular person was recognized as Saidul Islam, age- 42 years, S/o- Muktar Ghazi, Village- Jagdanabpur, PO- Uksa, Distt- Satkhira (Bangladesh).
During questioning  Saidul Islam said that he’s a Bangladeshi citizen, R/o- Uksa, Satkhira. Today (on twenty seventh May) within the night, he got here together with his boat within the Ichamati river for fishing. But instantly his boat turned uncontrolled because of the robust currents of the water and wind and he crossed the International Border from Bangladesh to India inadvertently.

BSF handed over the Bangladeshi nationwide together with the recovered boat to BGB on humanitarian grounds.

Jasbir Singh, Commanding Officer of 27 Battalion said that Border Security Force are taking strict steps to stop infiltration alongside the Indo-Bangladesh Border. Due to which a few of them are being caught and they’re being punished based on the legislation, in addition to the Bangladeshi folks who enter the Indian territory unknowingly or by crossing the International Border by accident, on account of mutual goodwill of the 2 forces, they’re being handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh.
