The Odisha authorities on Saturday determined to embrace catastrophe and pandemic management in highschool and college curriculums.

A decision in this regard was handed at a gathering of the Council of Ministers, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The Council of Ministers stated it felt that everybody in the state ought to be effectively ready to face the challenges posed by disasters akin to frequent cyclones, and in addition the pandemic.

From now on, each highschool and college scholar will study catastrophe and pandemic management as part of the curriculum, he stated.

The state will even practice its worker on the basic nature of completely different sorts of catastrophe and pandemic management. Disaster and pandemic management will be in the federal government recruitment syllabus as effectively, Patnaik stated.

Elected representatives will be skilled on catastrophe and pandemic management, he stated.

Besides, the federal government will practice members of Mission Shakti teams, Vana Surakya Samitis, and different community-based organisations and equip them with the data required to handle disasters and pandemics, he stated.
