The Yogi government led Uttar Pradesh gobvernment presented its budget for the year 2021-22 on Monday. The fifth and last budget, said to be Uttar Pradesh’s biggest budget till date, was a paperless budget with new schemes worth Rs 27,598.40 crore.

With an outlay of Rs 5,50,270 crore, Uttar Pradesh government tried to take care of all sections of teh scociety. At the same time, the government has made important announcements for minority welfare in 2020-21 budget.Â
While unveiling the current year’s budget, State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said “the government’s goal is to ensure all-round development and make UP self-reliant.”
A provision of Rs 829 crore has been proposed for scholarship scheme for minority students. Also, a proposal of Rs 479 crore has been made for the modernisation scheme of Madrasas in Uttar Pradesh.
Reacting to the budget, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said now the game of BJP is over in the state. “Khel khatam, paisa hajam” (game over, money usurped),” was his reaction when asked about the budget.
“Poor and farmers were expecting big relief but their expectations were not met. Now the government has no time left and people of the state have seen what they did in the past four years,” he added.
