Covid Impact: From Kids Education To Salary Up To 5 Yrs, Reliance Extends Helps To Family Of Deceased Employees

Mumbai: As the second wave of coronavirus have proved to be deadlier claiming lives of relations, , Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries (RIL) has introduced a number of measures to assist the households affected by the pandemic even because it continues to supply final drawn month-to-month wage for 5 years to the nominee of the staff who’ve succumbed to the illness.

While saying the measures to staff by means of a letter, Nita Ambani, stated: (*5*)

“The firm will honour the promise of ‘one Reliance household’ and can help them. Reliance stands with every one among you on this hour of grief. To all bereaving households of any off-roll workforce member working for the group, who has succumbed to Covid-19.” 

What are the measures announced by RIL?

Salary to nominee: RIL has announced that it will continue to provide the last drawn monthly salary for a period of five years to the nominee of the employees who have succumbed to the disease.

Cause of children: RIL will provide 100 per cent payment of tuition fee, hostel accommodation, and book fee up to Bachelor’s degree at any institute in India for all children of the deceased employees.

Hospitalisation cost: Reliance will also bear 100 percent payment of premium for hospitalisation coverage for spouse, parents, and children (till the Bachelor’s degree of the children).

Leave policy: All colleagues impacted by Covid-19 personally, or within the family, can avail of the special Covid-19 leave for the full duration of their recovery, both physically and emotionally. It is to be noted that the leave policy has been extended to ensure all Reliance employees focus on recovering fully or caring for their Covid-19 positive family members.

Benefits for workers: It will offer a payment of Rs 10 lakh to the grieving family members of all off-roll employees who have succumbed to Covid-19, Nita Ambani, chairperson, Reliance Foundation, said on June 2.

A lumpsum payment of Rs 10 lakh directly to the nominee of the deceased to support and care for the grieving family. This contribution will be made through the Reliance Foundation.

In its annual report launched on Wednesday, RIL acknowledged that Mukesh Ambani didn’t draw any wage for the 12 months 2020-21 as a result of pandemic. However, managing administrators and whole-time administrators Nikhil R Meswani and Hital R Meswani acquired whole remuneration price Rs 24 crore.
