Karnataka cancels second PUC exams, to hold SSLC exams in July

New Delhi: Taking into consideration the continuing pandemic, the Karnataka authorities on Friday (June 4) scrapped the second yr pre-university exams (PUC exams), and determined to conduct SSLC or Class 10 examinations in July. 

“We are not holding the PUC exams this year. The grading will be based on their performance at the district level assessment in the first pre-university examination,” Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar stated at a press convention.

It has been determined to promote the second pre-university school college students to the following degree, he added.

“No pupil will fail in class tenth and twelfth. Evaluation will probably be in accordance to grades,” the Education Minister was quoted as saying by ANI. Students who should not glad with the grading system will probably be allowed to take the examination.

SSLC exams will probably be held in the third week of July. The exams may have one multi-choice query paper for arithmetic, science and social science and yet one more query paper for languages, Kumar stated.

“The multi-choice question paper for 40 marks will be easy and straight and there will not be any indirect questions,” Kumar added. For the scholars affected by COVID-19 an infection, supplementary examinations will probably be performed. 

After CBSE, CISCE determined to name off Class 12 board exams, a number of states together with Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat adopted go well with. Other states like West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh are but to take a call on the matter. While Assam authorities is probably going to conduct Class 10 and Class 12 board exams in the state when situations are conducive.
