The 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) suffered a setback months earlier than its resumption in UAE in September when franchises’ worst fears relating to availability of international gamers began to come back true with the pull-out of Australia all-rounder Pat Cummins from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Cummins has advised KKR’s veteran India participant Dinesh Karthik that he will not be capable to make it for the second leg of the tournament.

KKR may miss England captain Eoin Morgan, who leads the franchise.

“Pat Cummins has himself said that he will not come. But when it comes to Eoin Morgan, there are still three months to go. A lot can change from now till September. But if I am asked to lead, I will be ready for it,” Karthik advised Times of India in an interview.

There has been no assertion from Cricket Australia but on the provision of its gamers for the rest of IPL 2021 whereas England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has already clarified that its gamers will not skip worldwide matches which coincide with IPL.

ECB director of cricket Ashley Giles had final month stated England have a packed schedule.

“We are going to have to give some of these guys a break at some point. But the intention of giving guys a break for, say, Bangladesh, wouldn’t be for them to go and play cricket elsewhere. We have to manage our schedule now, so we get our guys arriving in the best shape possible for the T20 World Cup and the Ashes,” Giles had stated.

IPL 2021’s remaining matches will start instantly after India’s tour of England in mid-September and run until mid-October when the T20 World Cup is scheduled to start out.
