An in depth aide of BJP chief Suvendu Adhikari has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a faux authorities job rip-off, a police officer mentioned on Sunday. Rakhal Bera was arrested from outdoors his residence right here on Saturday based mostly on a grievance lodged on the Manicktala police station by a resident of Kalyangarh.

In his assertion to the police, the complainant alleged that Bera took Rs 2 lakh from him at a camp inside a flat on the Saha Institute Of Nuclear Physics Cooperative Housing Society on Manicktola Road someday between July 2019 and September 2019, the officer mentioned.
Despite having paid the quantity, the complainant claimed, he was not given the promised job in the Irrigation Department. Suvendu Adhikari, a TMC turncoat, and former state Irrigation minister is now Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly.
Bera has been booked below related sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for prison conspiracy, forgery of priceless safety, forgery for the aim of dishonest, he mentioned. When produced at a metropolis court docket, Bera was remanded to police custody until June 12, he added.
