New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday mentioned that it has registered a case of disproportionate assets towards Kishor Meena, Assistant Grade-I officer of FCI posted at Divisional Office in Madhya Pradesh`s Bhopal and carried out searches at 13 areas.
A CBI official mentioned that the company registered a case towards Meena on the allegations of illicit enrichment to the tune of Rs 2.93 crore throughout December 2, 2016 to May 29, 2021. He mentioned that the company performed searches at 13 areas in Bhopal, Vidisha, Khandwa, Jhabua, Narsingpur, Jabalpur, Nanded and Jalgaon together with on the premises of contractors and personal individuals.
The official mentioned that the case has been registered on the idea of knowledge collected throughout investigation of one other case associated to alleged bribery, whereby 4 Food Corporation of India (FCI) officers together with the mentioned Assistant Grade-I officer had been arrested. “During the searches at the premises of accused in the said case of bribery, cash of Rs 3.01 crore was recovered,” he mentioned.
The officer mentioned that in the sooner case registered on the allegations of bribery, the 4 arrested individuals together with Divisional Manager, Manager (Accounts), Manager (Security) and Meena had been remanded to police custody. The Divisional Manager and the 2 Managers had been despatched to judicial custody, the official mentioned.
Meena was produced earlier than the Special Judge, CBI instances, Bhopal on Tuesday and remanded to police custody until June 10, he added.
