After New Tax Portal Goes Blank, Fin Min Sitharaman Asks Infosys To Not Let Down Taxpayers

Delhi: Users face points with the brand new tax e-filing portal 2.0 following which Union Finance Minister takes it to Twitter to ask IT big Infosys and its co-founder Nandan Nilekani, to not let down the tax-payers. While tagging Infosys, she wrote on Twitter: “Ease in Compliance for the taxpayers should be our priority.”

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman took to Twitter: “The much-awaited e-filing portal 2.0 was launched last night 20:45hrs. I see in my TL grievances and glitches. I Hope @Infosys & @NandanNilekani will not let down our taxpayers in the quality of service being provided. Ease in compliance for the taxpayer should be our priority.”

“Cannot log in to New Income Tax Site. Issue with site or issue at my end ?” a person questioned in a tweet.

Infosys received the tender of e-filing portal 2.0 in 2019, regardless of their earlier venture of GSTN portal that’s used for GST cost and returns submitting, confronted flak in 2017 over glitches on the web site.

The customers have taken the difficulty to Twitter and criticised the federal government for giving the venture of a brand new e-filing portal 2.0 to Infosys. Meanwhile, Infosys’ shares shot up by Rs 24.35 on markets closing because the per inventory prices Rs 1,414.
