The first pier of the elevated part of the Delhi-Meerut regional speedy transit system (RRTS) in the metropolis has been accomplished close to the upcoming New Ashok Nagar station. The Delhi portion of the elevated RRTS part begins from Sarai Kale Khan station and passes above the present Barapullah flyover whereas crossing the Yamuna river to achieve New Ashok Nagar RRTS station.
