Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Sanjay Raut alleged that the Bharatiya Janta Party-led previous authorities in Maharashtra, with whom they were in alliance with from 2014 to 2019, treated his social gathering like ‘slaves’. Raut made these remarks whereas addressing Sena employees in Jalgaon in north Maharashtra on Saturday.
“The Shiv Sena had a secondary standing within the previous authorities and was (treated) like slaves. Attempts were additionally made to end off our social gathering by misusing the very energy which was loved due to our assist,” he was quoted as saying by PTI.
Further, Raut claimed that Shiv Sainiks might be proud that the state’s management is now within the fingers of their social gathering. “The Maha Vikas Aghadi government was formed with this sentiment (in November 2019),” he stated.
The Shiv Sena-BJP alliance led by former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis crumbled in 2019 over the problem of chief ministership. The Sena, which was one of many oldest allies of the BJP, later fashioned an unlikely alliance with the NCP and Congress to kind the Maha Vikas Aghadi authorities in Maharashtra.
Raut’s remarks got here days after Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi individually, setting off political speculations within the state.
